Charles-Henri Gallois joins Jordan Bardella as economic advisor to the European Parliament

The president of the National Rally is strengthening his team. Charles-Henri Gallois, a former UPR executive and founder of the "Generation Frexit" movement, now renamed "Let's Take Back Control!", has been appointed economic advisor to Jordan Bardella in the European Parliament. A strategic choice less than two years before the presidential election, which marks the RN's desire to structure a sovereignist and credible economic discourse, supported by profiles from the private sector.

A self-proclaimed sovereignist path

Charles-Henri Gallois, 37, a graduate of EM Lyon, spent many years in the world of finance, notably at Chanel and then at TAG Heuer. He became known for his outspoken stance against the European Union and the single currency. A former economics director of the UPR (Union for a Popular Movement), which he left in 2020, he founded "Generation Frexit" based on the model of Nigel Farage's Brexit Party, without electoral pretensions, but with one obsession: to force a referendum on leaving the EU into public debate.

A candidate nominated by the National Rally (RN) for the 2024 legislative elections in Nièvre, he caused a surprise by reaching the second round, garnering 46,3% of the vote against the incumbent Macronist Perrine Goulet. He then advocated for a "common sense" economic policy: an end to European bureaucracy, support for SMEs, the abolition of production taxes, and industrial relocations.

In his new role, Gallois intends to pursue an "ambitious and realistic" economic plan focused on controlling public spending and supporting the competitiveness of French businesses. "The Macronists' budgetary policy has been a disaster across the board," he asserts, while calling for a break with the "absurd standards" imposed by Brussels.

This rally also marks a desire to unify the sovereignist camp behind the RN, which is gradually establishing itself as the common home of supporters of Frexit and national economic recovery.
