Jordan Bardella responds to Mbappé's criticism: "When Kylian Mbappé leaves PSG, the club wins the Champions League"

"And I know what happens when Kylian Mbappé leaves PSG: the club wins the Champions League! (And maybe soon a second time.)", wrote Jordan Bardella on his X account. A direct response to Kylian Mbappé's interview in Vanity Fair, in which she takes a stand against the National Rally.

Kylian Mbappé stands by his stances against the National Rally

In an interview with Vanity FairKylian Mbappé has revisited his political statements made during the 2024 legislative elections. The French national team captain had warned of the rise of extremism and urged young people to vote, amidst the significant gains of the National Rally (RN). The Real Madrid player defended the legitimacy of footballers to speak out on social issues. "We must fight against this idea that a footballer should simply play and remain silent.", he said in particular.

Kylian Mbappé also explained that his fame or financial situation did not prevent him from feeling concerned about the political future of the country. "Even if you're a football player, you're first and foremost a citizen."he stated in the interview, adding that he knew "What consequences could this have?" for France when the National Rally comes to power.

Jordan Bardella hits where it hurts

Rather than addressing the political substance of the issue, Jordan Bardella opted for a stinging sporting barb! Referring to Kylian Mbappé's departure from PSG, the National Rally leader pointed out that PSG has never been stronger than since the French international striker left. PSG, who won the Champions League last season, will defend their title in the final on May 30th against the English club Arsenal.
