Christian Estrosi was involved in a road accident on Friday in Megève, Haute-Savoie. The former mayor of Nice, who was driving on the Mont-d'Arbois road, was reportedly struck while descending a hill by professional cyclist Jérémy Lecroq.

According to information from Le Dauphiné Libéré , picked up by La Dépêche and L'Équipe , Christian Estrosi was not responsible for the accident. The 31-year-old cyclist, a member of the Saint-Michel-Preference Home-Auber 93 team, reportedly collided with the vehicle of the former mayor of Nice.

Jérémy Lecroq's season is in jeopardy

Firefighters did not respond to the scene, and no precise information has yet been released regarding the cyclist's condition. His season could, however, be over as a result of this accident.

Neither Christian Estrosi, 71, nor Jérémy Lecroq have publicly reacted to the incident. The former mayor of Nice was in the Alps a few months after his defeat in the municipal elections to Éric Ciotti.
