This is a case that has shaken Spain, the fashion world, and international business circles. Jonathan Andic, the eldest son of Isak Andic, founder of the Mango empire, has been arrested by Catalan police as part of the investigation into his father's death. His father died in December 2024 after falling approximately 100 meters while hiking in the Montserrat mountain range near Barcelona. Initially considered an accident, the billionaire's death is now being investigated as a suspected homicide.

According to exclusive images obtained by InterviewsJonathan Andic was seen leaving the police station in handcuffs before being brought before a judge in Martorell, Catalonia. Following his interrogation, the judge ordered his pretrial detention, but with the possibility of avoiding incarceration by posting bail of one million euros. The son of the Mango founder was ultimately released after paying this sum. His passport was confiscated, and he must remain at the disposal of the Spanish justice system for the duration of the investigation.

A fatal fall during a father-son hike

The tragedy dates back to December 14, 2024. Isak Andic, 71, founder of Mango, was on a hike in Montserrat with his son Jonathan when he fell into a ravine. At the time, an accident was considered the most likely explanation. But as the months passed, investigators uncovered inconsistencies, including alleged discrepancies in the statements of Jonathan Andic, who was the only person accompanying his father at the time.

Spanish authorities suspect homicide; the Andic family denounces the lack of evidence

The court cited several factors that led to the reclassification of the case: contradictions in statements, a father-son relationship described as strained, possible financial implications, and forensic findings that reportedly ruled out the theory of a simple accident. At this stage, Jonathan Andic remains presumed innocent.

The Andic family continues to support Jonathan Andic. In a statement, they assert that there is no valid evidence against him and express their conviction that the legal proceedings will establish his innocence. The defense firmly contests the suspicions of homicide and calls for respect for the presumption of innocence.

Mango faces an explosive legal case

Isak Andic founded Mango in 1984 and transformed the Spanish brand into one of the world's leading fashion retailers. His death sent shockwaves through Spain, where the businessman was considered one of the great figures of Catalan entrepreneurial success. Since his passing, Jonathan Andic has held an important position within the owning family, although Mango has so far declined to comment publicly on the legal proceedings. Jonathan Andic's arrest marks a dramatic turning point in this case. For the Spanish justice system, the question is now clear: Did Isak Andic die as a result of a tragic mountain accident, or was his fall deliberate? The answer will depend on the conclusions of the investigation.
