Cyberattacks against hospitals: three young people charged in Paris

Three young suspects have been charged in Paris in connection with a series of cyberattacks targeting several healthcare facilities in France, the prosecutor's office announced. The case involves computer intrusions followed by the disclosure of sensitive data, which have affected various hospitals in recent months.

Among those being prosecuted are two minors aged 16 and a young adult aged 20. All are suspected of having participated in operations targeting hospital computer systems, in a context of a resurgence of attacks against the health sector.

Legal action for attacks on computer systems

The three individuals involved were placed under judicial supervision after being formally charged with offenses against automated data processing systems. Two other people arrested as part of this judicial operation have not, at this stage, faced similar charges.

The investigation, entrusted to specialized authorities, is ongoing to determine the exact extent of the events and any potential ramifications. Cyberattacks against hospitals, which are particularly sensitive due to the data targeted, are subject to increased vigilance by the authorities.
