The investigation into the filmed gang rapes within the swingers' scene has taken a new turn with the indictment of five more men, bringing the total number of people facing charges to 19. According to the Bordeaux prosecutor's office, the judicial inquiry has also identified six victims, five of whom have filed civil suits. The alleged crimes involve gang rapes accompanied by acts of torture and barbarity.
The case came to light in 2023 after a woman filed a complaint accusing her former partner of organizing gang rapes with other men he invited. As the investigation progressed, several former partners of the main suspect reported experiencing similar abuse. Investigators conducted several waves of arrests in 2025, leading to the indictment of numerous suspects.
Videos at the heart of the investigation
The investigation relies in particular on the analysis of dozens of videos discovered at the home of the main suspect, a maintenance worker. According to the prosecutor's office, these recordings show the victims' lack of consent, with some images capturing screams of pain. The main suspect has admitted to the filmed acts, while contesting their legal classification as rape.
Analysis of these videos also allowed investigators to identify numerous potential participants and several locations where the alleged crimes took place, including the suspect's home, swingers' clubs in the Bordeaux metropolitan area, and public spaces in Bordeaux, the Hérault department, and the Gard department. Those charged with rape involving torture and acts of barbarity face life imprisonment.
