At only 42 years old, the actor and director Arnaud Denis He claims to have reached a medical dead end. For over two years, he has been living with what he describes as extreme pain, which appeared after surgery to correct an inguinal hernia. A seemingly routine operation with irreversible consequences

The procedure performed in 2023 was initially intended to improve her quality of life. However, the implantation of a prosthesis marked the beginning of a daily ordeal. Over the months, the artist chose to no longer keep his situation a secret. In a message published last summer, he described a continuous deterioration: difficulty walking, foot pain, sagging of the spine, inability to stand upright. "For two years I have been inexorably deteriorating."he wrote, describing a daily life dominated by fear and exhaustion.

He now claims that all medical options have been explored. "The doctors have nothing more to offer me."he explains, convinced that no solution will be able to stop the progression of his condition.

A fight on behalf of other patients

Beyond his own situation, Arnaud Denis wants to raise awareness about what he considers a broader problem linked to the use of certain surgical prostheses. He has joined a collective effort by supporting a group of French patients who have undergone hernia implant surgery, a forum for discussion that brings together several thousand people.

He denounces a lack of information on potential risks, the absence of statistical monitoring and the difficulty for patients to be recognized as victims. A complaint was filed before the final decision.

Before finalizing his departure plan, the director also intends to take legal action. He plans to file a complaint against persons unknown for involuntary injury, as well as joining a collective action. "I won't be able to finish it, but I'm leaving it for my family."he explains, determined to take this step before ending his life.

An artistic journey abruptly interrupted

As a reminder, trained by leading figures in the theater, Arnaud Denis dedicated his career to the stage and the classical repertoire.
