Simone Mazaltarim, better known by the nickname of Rebecca, wife of the singer Pierre Perretpassed away during the night of 3th to 4th, at the age of 91. This news was announced by a close friend of the couple and confirmed by the artist's representative.

Rebecca and Pierre Perret had built their life together nearly seven decades ago. They met in 1957 when she was working as a secretary at Barclay, the record label where the young singer was beginning his career. Their meeting, initially marked by an argument over a plane ticket, quickly blossomed into a lasting love story. They married in 1962 and had three children: the twins Anne and Alain, born in the same year, then JulieIn 1963.

Throughout his career, Rebecca was much more than a partner. She accompanied Pierre Perret on his tours, managed the logistics and administrative aspects of his career, and was always his greatest supporter and attentive critic. In an interview, the singer described the importance of his wife: "Rebecca made me smarter. She's the first to hear my songs and her opinion means a lot to her. She's often right."

60 years of marriage

Pierre Perret had celebrated in 2025 70 years of career and more than 60 years of marriageAt 91, the artist had already begun to slow down his musical activities, having ended his tours with his series of “provisional farewells” in 2023, while continuing to write. That same year, he released his last album, My old carcass.

The family home in Nangis, Seine-et-Marne, where they shared so many moments, now seems so empty without her.
