To kick off Pride Month in New York, Madonna took over Times Square this Friday with a free 15-minute mini-concert, organized in partnership with the dating app Grindr. Dressed in a pale pink corset, silver knee-high boots, and electric blue sunglasses, the 67-year-old Queen of Pop performed hits from Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005), Hung Up, Get Together, and I Love New York, before unveiling three tracks from her upcoming album for the first time: I Feel So Free, Bring Your Love, and Love Sensation. Her longtime producer, Stuart Price, served as DJ. "Thank you, New York City, I love you! Happy Pride!" she exclaimed before leaving the stage to thunderous applause.

Throughout the performance, rainbow lights flashed while images of historical figures in the fight for gay and trans rights were projected, including Marsha P. Johnson, the trans activist who played a central role in the 1969 Stonewall riots, as well as artists Keith Haring and Robert Mapplethorpe. The performance is part of the promotional campaign for Confessions II, the direct sequel to Confessions on a Dance Floor, scheduled for release on July 3. The singer mentioned a return to dance music, "while perhaps provoking some necessary debate." Her partnership with Grindr continues with an interactive advertisement on the app until the album's release. Her son Mercy and her boyfriend Akeem Morris were in the audience.
