Bad Bunny played to a packed house at the Plenitude Arena with J Balvin as a surprise guest

On July 4th and 5th, Bad Bunny inaugurated the Plenitude Arena (formerly Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre) with two sold-out concerts, each night drawing over 38,000 spectators. The 32-year-old Puerto Rican singer, projected to be the most streamed artist in 2025 with over 20 billion streams, is continuing his world tour following the release of his Grammy Award-winning album, Debi tirar mas fotos. Tickets sold out in moments and were being resold for over €200 outside the venue on the day of the shows. The stage design, musicians, costumes, and choreography were entirely dedicated to Puerto Rico, the central theme of the performance: in the stands, blue, red, and white flags, pavas (traditional straw hats), and makeup in the archipelago's colors created a human backdrop as striking as the stage itself.

The "casita," the centerpiece of the show: 500 m² of Puerto Rican-style house in the heart of the pit

A central element of the concert, the now-famous "casita" (a pink and yellow replica of a 1950s Puerto Rican house) stood in the pit, occupying 500 square meters and reducing the venue's capacity from 45,000 to 38,000. From this structure, Bad Bunny performed around twenty songs up close to the audience, including "Monaco," which samples Charles Aznavour's "Hier encore." Among the celebrities spotted inside on the second night were actors Ashley Park, Lucien Laviscount, and Lucas Bravo from the series "Emily in Paris," as well as DJ Snake. The band's guitarist also provided an unexpected moment by playing Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" on the cuatro, Puerto Rico's national instrument, sparking enthusiasm from the crowd, who took a few seconds to recognize the song before singing along.

J Balvin made a surprise appearance, performing a 2.5-hour show and an encore amidst flames.

On Sunday, July 5th, the most anticipated moment of the second concert was the appearance of J Balvin, the Colombian superstar who helped popularize reggaeton worldwide. Appearing on the roof of the casita during "Como un bebé," he joined Bad Bunny for "La canción," before performing four hits solo ("Mi gente," "Loco contigo," "Qué calor," and "In da Getto") to thunderous cheers. The two-and-a-half-hour show was divided into three acts, alternating between recent hits ("Nuevayol," "Dtmf," "Eoo") and classics for longtime fans, including tracks from his 2019 album with J Balvin, "Oasis." Bad Bunny also interrupted several songs to address the audience, speaking about Paris as the "city of love" and the importance of seizing the moment, before ending with an explosive encore under red flames. "It was a mix between a film, a music video and a nightclub," summarized Mathieu, 35, as he left.
