Municipal elections: Michel Barnier defends the right-centre alliance despite significant defeats

On Monday morning, Entrevue reviews the results of the municipal elections and the main lessons learned from the vote across the cities of France.

In the aftermath of the election, Michel Barnier, the LR deputy for Paris, asserted that "the alliance between the republican right and the center is working," despite notable setbacks such as Rachida Dati's defeat in Paris and François Bayrou's in Pau. The former Prime Minister also ruled out any strategy of alliance with the far right, stating that his camp had "no interest in propping up" the National Rally, while calling for an analysis of the reasons for these defeats.
