Lyon municipal elections: Grégory Doucet (EELV) joins forces with LFI for the second round

This week, Entrevue brings you the aftermath of the first round of municipal elections. Now, the focus shifts to alliances, negotiations, and new configurations in preparation for the second round, which will be held next Sunday.

In Lyon, the list led by incumbent Green mayor Grégory Doucet announced on Monday an agreement with La France Insoumise (LFI) for the second round of voting. In a press release, the Greens referred to "the broadening of the coalition around Grégory Doucet," specifying that the LFI lists had joined this movement while continuing to pursue their own platform. On Sunday evening, Grégory Doucet had obtained 37,36% of the vote, while the LFI candidate Anaïs Belouassa-Cherifi had garnered 10,41%. This alliance aims to strengthen the left-wing bloc against Jean-Michel Aulas in the second round.
