Meeting late Sunday afternoon with Renaissance party officials during a videoconference executive meeting, Gabriel Attal outlined the presidential camp's strategy for the period between the two rounds of voting. The former Prime Minister reiterated that Renaissance remains "a young party," with limited local roots, while affirming that the strategy is to support "people with whom we share values rather than simply sending people to the polls for the sake of it." He also warned that there would be "no direct or indirect alliances with the far right or the far left," believing that this period between the two rounds would be "the moment of truth" for the Republicans (LR) and the Socialist Party (PS) regarding their alliance choices. Concerning Paris, Gabriel Attal also emphasized that Pierre-Yves Bournazel belonged to the Horizons party, leaving it to this party and its leader, Édouard Philippe, to decide whether to maintain their candidacy or join forces with them in the second round.
