Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky He asserted on Sunday that his country possessed unique expertise in combating Iranian-made drones used by Russia, following a meeting in Kyiv with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. The two leaders also discussed possible enhanced cooperation in arms production.

In a message posted on the social network X, Zelensky indicated that the discussions had focused on the joint production of weapons between Ukraine and the Netherlands. "It is important that we produce weapons jointly with the Netherlands – and we will certainly continue and develop this collaboration," he said.

The Ukrainian president specified that the discussions had addressed in detail the investment prospects and potential production volumes within the framework of this partnership. This industrial cooperation aims to strengthen Ukraine's military capabilities in the face of the war with Russia.

Zelensky also highlighted Ukraine's expertise in defending against Iranian drones, particularly the Shahed-type aircraft widely used by Moscow to strike Ukrainian infrastructure. He stated that years of combat against these drones have enabled Ukrainian forces to develop highly advanced defense methods.

The Dutch Prime Minister's visit to Kyiv is part of the Netherlands' ongoing support for Ukraine since the start of the large-scale Russian invasion. Discussions on joint arms production could mark a new stage in military cooperation between the two countries.

As the war continues and drone attacks remain frequent, Kyiv seeks to strengthen its defense industrial base and increase partnerships with its European allies to support the long-term military effort.
