It's only in the United States that we see this... Last November, Benjamin Golden was sentenced to $25 in damages for attacking an Uber driver. A camera, placed on the dashboard, had filmed the entire scene of incredible violence.
Following the video's distribution on the internet by the driver, this 32-year-old American lost his job. But today, and after having made a public apology, Benjamin Golden is requesting a new trial, affirming that he has suffered greatly from the media coverage of the affair, deploring in particular an intrusion into his private life. He is therefore demanding 5 million damages from the Uber driver! His argument? The video was made without his consent.
