Venezuela: The last French hostage, Julien Février, has been freed and is on his way to France.

Julien Février, a 35-year-old Frenchman detained in Venezuela for approximately a year, has been released and is currently en route to France, according to information confirmed by his family. He was considered the last French national still being held in the country.

According to his brother, Nicolas Février, his condition remains worrying after this prolonged detention. "He is in a critical emotional and psychological state, but at least he is free," he said, mentioning an imminent return to French territory.

Arrested in 2025 in Caracas amid a tense situation, the man in his thirties was allegedly detained arbitrarily. His release brings an end to a situation closely monitored by French authorities and comes amid a particularly sensitive diplomatic climate between Paris and the Venezuelan government.
