French authorities have stated that an Israeli company specializing in influence marketing and cybersecurity, BlackCore, is suspected of having conducted operations to interfere in several elections around the world, including in New York and Scotland.
According to Viginum, the French agency responsible for monitoring foreign digital interference, BlackCore's alleged activities are not limited to France. The agency also mentions operations in Angola, Togo, New York, and Scotland.
French Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu indicated that France had requested assistance from Israeli authorities to identify potential sponsors of these alleged influence campaigns.
BlackCore describes itself as a company active in influencer marketing, digital communication, and cybersecurity. However, the company did not respond to requests for comment regarding these allegations.
This case comes amid heightened vigilance by Western governments regarding information manipulation and attempts to influence electoral processes by private or state actors. French authorities are continuing their investigations to determine the true extent of the activities attributed to BlackCore and to identify those potentially responsible for these operations.
