Le président américain Donald Trump sparked a major controversy after publishing on its social network Truth Social an AI-generated image depicting it as a Christ-like figure.
In this image, which was quickly deleted, Donald Trump appears dressed in a white robe, in a pose reminiscent of Jesus, placing his hand on a man's head. The post provoked numerous reactions, including among some of his own supporters, who deemed the depiction inappropriate.
This controversy comes in an already tense context, following verbal attacks by the American president against Pope Leo XIV, with whom he disagrees on several issues related to war and moral values.
Despite these tensions, the pontiff declared that he was not afraid of the Trump administration and affirmed his desire to continue to defend a message of peace and dialogue.
The episode illustrates once again the controversial use of artificial intelligence in political communication, as well as the risks of symbolic excesses in a climate already marked by strong ideological divisions.
This case also reignites the debate on the limits of freedom of expression for political leaders and on the impact of AI-generated content on public opinion.
