Ukraine: The EU warns against any territorial concessions to Russia

The EU's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, warned against any pressure aimed at forcing Ukraine to cede territory to Russia as part of future negotiations.

According to her, the territorial claims put forward by Moscow are part of a well-known logic of negotiation, consisting of claiming territories that do not belong to it.

The European Union is particularly concerned that Ukraine may face pressure, especially from the United States, to accept concessions in order to end the conflict.

"This is a trap we must not fall into," warned Kaja Kallas, stressing the need to maintain a firm stance against Russian demands.

This stance comes as diplomatic discussions about a possible settlement of the conflict are increasing, in a tense international context.

For Brussels, any lasting solution must respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and not reward aggression.

These statements illustrate the potential differences between Western allies on how to end the war.

They also confirm the European Union's willingness to support Kyiv without compromise on its borders.
