Russia has launched a series of continuous airstrikes against Ukraine, combining night and day attacks in a strategy aimed at overwhelming Ukrainian defenses, according to the Kyiv air force.
According to spokesman Yurii Ihnat, Moscow is now using new tactics, including novel routes and modernized drones to bypass defense systems. "We are seeing that the enemy is constantly adapting its methods," he told state television.
Over the past 24 hours, more than 400 long-range drones have reportedly been deployed, accompanied by around ten ballistic missiles. These attacks have primarily targeted areas near the front line, but their effects are being felt far beyond, disrupting public services and infrastructure.
The Kharkiv region was particularly hard hit. According to local authorities, the strikes left at least one person dead and 25 wounded, illustrating the intensity of the ongoing bombing.
This offensive is part of a new Russian military approach, consisting of alternating waves of nighttime drone strikes with massive daytime airstrikes. A similar tactic was observed earlier in the week during an attack that resulted in several casualties.
Faced with this escalation, Ukraine finds itself under increased pressure on its air defense capabilities. The evolution of Russian tactics underscores the growing complexity of the conflict and the ongoing challenges facing Ukrainian forces.
