Ukraine: Kyiv claims to be regaining ground thanks to a new warfare model combining drones and infantry

Ukraine has announced the implementation of a new combat model integrating the use of drones and infantry operations, a strategy which has allowed it to regain ground from Russian forces, according to its military officials.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense indicated that this model is based on assault units combining unmanned aerial and ground systems with ground troops, in an integrated arrangement aimed at improving the effectiveness of battlefield operations.

The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, claimed that Kyiv's forces had recaptured nearly 50 square kilometers of territory during the month of March, building on advances made since the beginning of the year.

Drones now occupy a central place in the conflict, with both sides investing heavily in their development, as well as in defense and interception systems designed to counter these technologies.

According to Ukrainian authorities, this new approach marks a significant evolution in the conduct of military operations, with increased coordination between technological means and human forces on the ground.

However, Russia claims to have made progress in certain areas, particularly in the north, illustrating the still-fluid and contested nature of the front. This dynamic underscores the ongoing intensity of the conflict and the growing importance of tactical innovations in the war in Ukraine.
