Ukraine: Dnipro hit by waves of Russian attacks, at least 10 dead

The city of Dnipro, in southeastern Ukraine, has been the target of several waves of Russian drone and missile attacks, leaving at least 10 dead and dozens injured, according to local authorities.

The strikes lasted for nearly 20 hours, hitting the city repeatedly, both day and night. During the first nighttime attack, a residential building was largely destroyed, trapping residents under the rubble. Four bodies were recovered by rescue workers.

According to regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha, eight people were killed and 49 injured in Dnipro. The site was then targeted again later that day as rescue teams responded, causing further casualties.

Other regions of the country have also been affected, particularly in northern Ukraine, where two more people have lost their lives.

These repeated attacks illustrate the intensity of the bombings targeting civilian infrastructure in the context of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia for more than four years.

Ukrainian authorities denounce strikes targeting inhabited areas, while rescue workers continue their search in the rubble, fearing an even higher death toll.
