Russia launched new missile strikes against Ukraine overnight, targeting the capital Kyiv and other cities, killing at least three people and injuring more than twenty, according to local authorities.
In Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the deaths of two people, including a 12-year-old child. Around ten residents were injured, some seriously, and several had to be hospitalized after the explosions damaged buildings.
In the southeastern city of Dnipro, another casualty has been reported. The strikes there caused fires in residential buildings, worsening the human and material toll.
Military authorities in the capital also reported at least 18 people injured in Kyiv, including a child. Emergency services were mobilized to respond to several sites affected by the shelling.
Air raid alerts remained in effect for several hours in the capital and other areas, reflecting the intensity and duration of this offensive.
This latest attack is part of a series of Russian strikes against Ukrainian urban centers, which continue to cause civilian casualties and heavy damage to infrastructure.
