US officials, including Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, may soon travel to Kyiv to revive peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, according to Ukrainian officials.
This visit, which could take place after Orthodox Easter, would mark the first official visit of these two figures to Kyiv, following exchanges already conducted in the United States and discussions held with Moscow.
According to Kyrylo Budanov, a close advisor to the Ukrainian president, other American figures could also participate in these discussions, in a particularly tense diplomatic context.
Negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow, supported by Washington, had been interrupted after the military escalation in the Middle East, following American and Israeli strikes against Iran.
The aim of this visit would be to revive dialogue and try to find a way out of a conflict that has lasted for more than four years, despite a still unstable military situation on the ground.
This initiative is part of the United States' diplomatic efforts to maintain a central role in negotiations, while simultaneously managing a major crisis in the Middle East.
The possible arrival of these emissaries could therefore constitute a key step in trying to get a peace process back on track, a process currently weakened by international tensions.
