Trump unveils plans for a monumental 76-meter arch in Washington

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, presented plans for an ambitious architectural project: a monumental arch 76 meters high intended to transform the landscape of Washington.

Named the "Arch of Independence," this structure draws inspiration from ancient arches, notably the Arch of Titus in Rome and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The project envisions an ivory-colored construction, richly decorated with gold elements.

Among the announced features are an imposing 18-meter statue at the summit, reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty with wings, as well as two monumental eagles and several golden lions. Patriotic inscriptions, taken from the American Pledge of Allegiance, will also be engraved on the structure.

The arch would be located near Arlington National Cemetery, a symbolic location that could intensify the debates surrounding the project.

However, this initiative is already generating controversy. It still needs to obtain the necessary permits and is the subject of legal challenges, with some opponents criticizing its cost, location, and aesthetics.

If it were to be built, this arch would become one of the most imposing monuments in the American capital, permanently reshaping its skyline and reigniting the debate on urban planning and national symbolism.
