Trump claims Iran is seeking a deal with Washington despite military tensions

Le président américain Donald Trump stated that Iran genuinely wanted to reach an agreement with the United States, believing that a possible compromise would benefit Washington and its allies.

This statement comes amid a particularly tense context, marked by a series of recent military exchanges between the two countries. The United States claimed to have struck Iranian military sites this past weekend, while the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps indicated it had carried out retaliatory attacks against a US base.

According to US authorities, these operations are part of a continuing conflict that has lasted for several months despite attempts at ceasefires and diplomatic negotiations.

In a message posted on the Truth Social network, Donald Trump claimed that Iran "really wants to make a deal," adding that such a deal could be beneficial to all parties involved.

The US president acknowledged, however, that the political climate surrounding the conflict makes negotiations more difficult. He criticized internal political divisions, arguing that constant criticism complicates diplomatic discussions.

Trump had already indicated a few days earlier that a decision on whether or not to continue negotiations with Tehran would be made soon, as part of efforts to prolong the fragile ceasefire between the two countries.
