Trump claims to have secured a halt to attacks against Israel from Hezbollah through mediators.

Le président américain Donald Trump He stated on Monday that he had communicated with the Lebanese Hezbollah through mediators and had obtained a promise from the movement to cease its attacks against Israel. This announcement comes amid heightened tensions on the Israeli-Lebanese border.

According to Donald Trump, discussions also took place with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The US president stated that Israel had agreed to withdraw troops that were preparing to launch an operation in southern Lebanon, thus reducing the risk of further military escalation in the region.

In a message posted on his social media account, Trump indicated that he had had a "very productive" conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu and assured him that no Israeli troops would be sent to Beirut. He added that the forces that were being deployed had already been ordered to turn back.

The US president also claimed to have obtained, "through high-level representatives," a commitment from Hezbollah to cease the attacks. If confirmed, this would be an unprecedented diplomatic development, as no US president has previously acknowledged dialogue with Hezbollah, either directly or indirectly.

Hezbollah is considered a terrorist organization by the United States. Washington has historically refused any official contact with the Iranian-backed Lebanese armed movement, preferring to communicate through intermediaries when deemed necessary.

A Lebanese official told Reuters that Hezbollah, through Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, had conveyed to the United States its willingness to cease attacks against northern Israel. This move reportedly contributed to discussions aimed at avoiding another military confrontation between the two sides.

These statements were not immediately followed by official confirmation from Hezbollah or the Israeli government. They come as diplomatic efforts intensify to prevent the conflict from escalating in the region.
