Russia: Oil infrastructure hit by drone attacks, fire at a refinery

Energy infrastructure in Russia has been targeted by drone attacks, causing a fuel leak at the port of Primorsk and a fire at the NORSI refinery, according to local authorities.

In Primorsk, a major oil terminal on the Baltic Sea, a fuel tank was damaged, causing a leak. Initially, authorities mentioned a damaged pipeline, before clarifying that only storage facilities had been affected.

Meanwhile, the NORSI refinery was engulfed in flames after an attack, illustrating the intensification of strikes targeting Russian energy infrastructure.

These operations are part of a strategy attributed to Ukraine, which has been increasing its attacks against Russian oil facilities for several weeks, with the aim of weakening Moscow's economic and military resources.

The port of Primorsk, one of the country's main oil export points, plays a key role in international energy supply. According to recent satellite images, a significant portion of its storage capacity has already been damaged in previous attacks.

Air raid alerts were also reported in other areas, including Novorossiysk, highlighting the geographical spread of the strikes.

These attacks increase the pressure on the Russian energy sector and could have repercussions on global markets, in a context already marked by strong tensions linked to international conflicts.
