Deadly new attack in Gaza: at least seven dead as truce talks resume

At least seven Palestinians, including two women, were killed Saturday in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza, according to local health officials. The attack comes as new indirect talks on a ceasefire resumed in Cairo between the Islamist movement Hamas, other Palestinian factions, and regional mediators.

According to Gaza medical services, the strike targeted a large tent encampment in central Gaza City. Fifteen other people were reportedly injured, including several children. The victims were transported to medical facilities in the enclave.

When questioned by Reuters, the Israeli army indicated that it had carried out an operation targeting "terrorists," without providing further details on the individuals targeted or the circumstances of the attack.
