Ukraine says it is ready to resume peace negotiations "at any time"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky He stated on Monday that his country was ready to resume US-backed peace negotiations at any time, while regretting that the attention of Kyiv's partners was currently preoccupied with the conflict involving Iran.

According to Volodymyr Zelensky, an upcoming meeting has been postponed at the request of the United States. The Ukrainian head of state did not provide further details on the date of this meeting or the conditions for a possible resumption of discussions, but he emphasized Ukraine's willingness to continue diplomatic efforts.

In a message posted on the X network, he accused Moscow of seeking to profit from the regional crisis in the Middle East. According to him, Russia is trying to exploit Iranian strikes against neighboring countries and American bases to divert international attention and create "a second front" in its war against Ukraine.

This statement comes as Ukrainian authorities worry about a possible waning of Western support due to the increasing number of global conflicts. Kyiv is particularly concerned that the conflict surrounding Iran could further divert military and diplomatic resources from its allies, to the detriment of the Ukrainian front.

On the ground, the fighting continues. A recent Russian missile strike in Kharkiv has once again illustrated the intensity of the bombing targeting Ukrainian urban areas, despite repeated calls from Kyiv to revive a political process.

By declaring itself ready to negotiate "at any time", Ukraine seeks to show that it remains open to a diplomatic solution, while accusing Russia of wanting to exploit international crises to strengthen its position in the conflict.
