The sons of the former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said they had applied for visas to visit him in Pakistan, saying they were worried about the health of their father who has been detained for more than two years.

Suleiman and Kasim Khan, who live in the United Kingdom, explained in an interview in London that they still had not received permission to travel to Pakistan. They said they feared their father's health was deteriorating, citing vision problems he had experienced while in detention.

Imran Khan, a former cricket captain turned political leader, has been imprisoned in connection with several legal cases since his fall from power in 2022. His supporters denounce the prosecutions as politically motivated, while Pakistani authorities maintain that the proceedings are following their legal course.

Authorities have rejected all allegations of neglect or ill-treatment in prison, stating that the former head of government is receiving appropriate medical care and conditions in accordance with applicable rules.

The case comes amid a still tense political climate in Pakistan, where Khan's party continues to mobilize its supporters despite restrictions and legal pressure. His sons' visa application adds a personal and humanitarian dimension to an already highly politicized case.
