Iranian cyberattacks against US infrastructure are on the rise amid the war.

The United States is warning of an intensification of cyberattacks attributed to Iranian hackers targeting critical infrastructure, amid heightened military tensions between Washington and Tehran.

According to several U.S. cybersecurity, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies, these attacks are specifically targeting sensitive industrial systems, such as programmable logic controllers and supervisory control devices used to control critical infrastructure.

These devices, often connected to the internet, are used to control energy networks, industrial facilities, and transportation systems. Their vulnerability could be exploited to cause major disruptions. Authorities indicate that some attacks have already resulted in service interruptions and financial losses.

US intelligence services believe these operations aim to destabilize the country in response to the ongoing war with Iran. This escalation of cyber conflict is part of a broader confrontation, where digital infrastructure is becoming a strategic target.

This alert comes as the president Donald Trump Iran has recently increased pressure on Tehran, threatening major consequences if negotiations fail. At the same time, Iran has hinted that it might target more infrastructure in the region, raising fears of both military and cyber escalation.
