Qatar lifts restrictions and authorizes the immediate resumption of all maritime activities

Qatar announced on Sunday the immediate resumption of all maritime activities, ending the temporary restrictions that had been imposed a few days earlier. The announcement was made by the Qatari Ministry of Transport in a statement published on the social media platform X.

This decision overturns an opinion issued on June 29, which recommended the temporary suspension of sailing and fishing vessel activities until further notice. At the time, however, the authorities had maintained commercial maritime transport operations, which were not affected by these restrictions.

The ministry did not specify the reasons for this immediate resumption nor provide any further explanations on the circumstances that led to the lifting of the measures.

This decision comes in a regional context marked by strong tensions in recent weeks, which have led several Gulf countries to temporarily strengthen certain precautionary measures in the areas of transport and security.

With this announcement, owners of pleasure boats, fishermen and other users of Qatari territorial waters can now resume their activities without any particular restrictions.
