The agreement between Iran and the United States could give Hezbollah a political boost.

Having suffered significant military and political losses in recent regional conflicts, Hezbollah appears to be indirectly benefiting from the interim agreement reached between the United States and Iran, according to several officials and analysts cited by Reuters.

The Lebanese Shiite movement, backed by Tehran, had been on the defensive since 2024 after months of fighting with Israel that weakened its military capabilities and damaged some of its infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

According to sources close to the matter, Iran has informed Hezbollah that it plans to increase its financial support for the movement within the new context created by the regional ceasefire. This support could help strengthen the group's political influence in Lebanon.

The ceasefire, guaranteed in particular by Iran, is seen by some observers as a diplomatic victory for Tehran and its regional allies. Despite the decrease in fighting, the situation remains fragile in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces remain present in some disputed areas.

Analysts also believe that the continued presence of Israeli troops on Lebanese territory is once again fueling Hezbollah's "resistance" narrative, an argument that has long been at the heart of its political and military legitimacy.

The movement nevertheless continues to face numerous challenges. The destruction caused by the war, Lebanon's economic difficulties, and internal criticism regarding its role in regional conflicts limit its room for maneuver.

The progress of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, as well as the security situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border, should determine in the coming months whether this resurgence of political influence can be transformed into a lasting advantage for Hezbollah.
