Turkey is urging Washington and Tehran to negotiate an end to the war

Turkey has called on the United States and Iran to adopt a "constructive" approach in their discussions to reach a resolution to the ongoing conflict. Ankara reaffirmed its support for diplomatic efforts aimed at ending hostilities, as a fragile ceasefire has been in place for two weeks.

In a highly tense regional context, Turkey, a NATO member and Iran's direct neighbor, has indicated that it maintains close contact with the various parties involved. It is notably in contact with Washington, Tehran, and Pakistan, the latter playing a mediating role in the discussions.

Turkish authorities have repeatedly called for a cessation of hostilities, emphasizing the need for dialogue to prevent a prolonged escalation. This position reflects Ankara's desire to play an active role in stabilizing the region while preserving its relations with the various actors.

The current ceasefire, although temporary, offers a window of opportunity to restart negotiations. However, persistent differences between the United States and Iran make any diplomatic progress uncertain.

Faced with these challenges, Turkey insists on the importance of serious and pragmatic discussions, believing that only a negotiated solution will prevent an escalation of the conflict and its repercussions throughout the Middle East.
