Russia suspends diesel exports after fuel shortages linked to Ukrainian drone strikes

Russia has decided to temporarily ban its diesel exports to ensure domestic supply, following fuel shortages caused by Ukrainian drone attacks targeting some of the country's energy infrastructure, the Russian government announced.

This ban, which concerns diesel exports, will remain in effect until July 31, according to information released by the authorities. Moscow is thus seeking to stabilize the domestic market and avoid further tensions in fuel supplies.

The decision comes after several Ukrainian drone strikes that targeted facilities linked to the Russian energy sector. These attacks disrupted fuel production and distribution in some regions, leading to supply difficulties.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak also stated that Russia would begin importing fuel in July to meet domestic market needs and compensate for temporary disruptions.

This measure comes as the war between Russia and Ukraine continues to affect the energy infrastructure of both countries. Strikes targeting oil facilities and fuel depots have become a significant element of the conflict, with each side seeking to weaken the other's logistical capabilities.
