Russia said its air defense systems intercepted 234 Ukrainian drones over several regions in the central and southern parts of the country over a period of nine hours, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The interceptions reportedly took place between 14 p.m. and 23 p.m. local time. Among the aircraft, six drones were heading towards Moscow, Russian authorities stated. The ministry indicated that no casualties or significant damage were reported following these operations.
In the Bryansk region, located on the border with Ukraine, the local governor reported that a farm worker had been injured in an attack attributed to Ukrainian forces.
Furthermore, in the territories of eastern Ukraine under Russian control, the authorities installed by Moscow claimed that a Ukrainian attack had killed a family of four in the town of Hirnyak, near Pokrovsk, a strategic area regularly targeted in the conflict.
A representative of the Russian Investigative Committee also stated that Ukrainian bombings had damaged a children's clinic in the city of Donetsk, the main urban center of the region of the same name.
These statements could not be independently verified. Drone attacks have become a central element of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides regularly conducting operations targeting military and logistical infrastructure located far from the front lines.
