The British Foreign Secretary is planning a visit to China in early June.

British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper is expected to visit China on June 2 and 3, according to several sources close to the matter, as part of London's efforts to maintain stable relations with Beijing.

According to these sources, Cooper is due to meet with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing before travelling to Shenzhen, an important technology hub in southern China, to meet with representatives of companies.

This visit comes as British and Chinese authorities closely monitor a forthcoming court decision regarding the proposed new Chinese embassy in London, a sensitive issue for bilateral relations.

According to Reuters, British officials are already preparing diplomatic documents related to the trip, believing that a possible internal challenge against Prime Minister Keir Starmer should not prevent the trip from taking place.

London is currently seeking to maintain a pragmatic dialogue with Beijing despite persistent tensions between China and several Western countries on trade, technology and security issues.
