The crisis in Iran is disrupting global humanitarian aid, according to the UN.

The United Nations warns that rising costs related to supply chains, caused by tensions surrounding the crisis in Iran, are severely complicating the delivery of humanitarian aid.

According to UN agencies, disruptions to maritime transport are causing significant delays and a surge in logistics costs. Fuel and marine insurance prices have also increased, in a context already marked by difficulties in financing international aid.

These increases directly affect humanitarian operations for displaced populations in several crisis-affected regions, where deliveries of food, medicine and survival supplies can now be delayed by several weeks.

The UN warns of a cascading effect: war and geopolitical tensions are no longer limited to conflict zones, but also weaken global aid systems, making assistance to refugees more expensive and slower.
