China says it is ready to cooperate on "inclusive" nuclear governance

China is ready to collaborate with other countries to promote more inclusive nuclear governance and development, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing said Tuesday at an international summit in Paris.

Speaking at the world nuclear energy summit, Zhang Guoqing stated that Beijing wished to strengthen international cooperation in this strategic field, particularly in the areas of technological development and management of nuclear projects.

"We should establish an international division of labor for an inclusive workforce in all nuclear projects," he said, calling for broader cooperation among countries involved in the nuclear industry.

The Chinese official also stressed the importance of strengthening international exchanges and coordination to promote the safe and sustainable development of nuclear energy.

These statements come as many countries are reassessing the role of nuclear power in their energy strategy, particularly to reduce carbon emissions and ensure energy security.

China's participation in this summit reflects Beijing's desire to play a greater role in global civil nuclear governance and in the development of new energy infrastructure.
