Top Chinese leader Zhao Leji called for prioritizing dialogue and international cooperation during his speech at the Boao Forum, a major economic event in Asia.
In a context marked by geopolitical conflicts, he denounced the rise of "unilateralism" and power politics, believing that they constitute growing threats to global stability.
Without naming any country in particular, Zhao Leji urged states to settle their disputes through peaceful means and to prioritize political solutions.
On the economic front, he reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting global growth, particularly by stimulating domestic consumption.
Beijing also intends to continue opening its market to foreign companies, while guaranteeing "national treatment" to international investors.
This message is consistent with the commitments of Premier Li Qiang, who had already advocated for a more open Chinese economy at a previous forum.
The Boao Forum, often compared to the Davos Forum, brought together several international leaders, including Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
This edition comes at a tense time, marked in particular by the war in Iran, which has led some officials, such as the South Korean Prime Minister, to intervene remotely.
Through this discourse, China seeks to position itself as a stabilizing actor and a driver of global economic cooperation.
