Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny met with Pope Leo XIII during a brief private meeting held Monday evening at Madrid's Bernabéu stadium, the Vatican announced.
According to the official statement, the artist was accompanied by family members and other close friends when the Pope came to greet them. He spoke briefly before leaving the stadium.
The Vatican clarified that no official photographs of the meeting would be published. This decision prompted some amused comments in the media, referencing Bad Bunny's latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos ("I Should Have Taken More Pictures"), which won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
The meeting took place while the Pope continues his visit to Spain and Bad Bunny is also in the country as part of his artistic activities.
Although brief, this interview illustrates the Vatican's interest in dialogue with influential figures in the world of culture and music, reflecting the global popularity of Bad Bunny, who has become one of the most listened-to Latin American artists in the world in recent years.
