At least 12 people were injured Saturday in a shooting in Toledo, Ohio, according to local authorities. Two victims are in critical condition.

According to police, the incident resulted from an exchange of gunfire between two individuals. The exact circumstances of the confrontation have not yet been established, but investigators are actively continuing their search to identify and locate the suspects.

The victims are aged between 14 and 61. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to treat the injured and transport them to hospitals in the region.

During a press conference, Lieutenant Dan Gerken emphasized the seriousness of the scene discovered by law enforcement.

"I have faced many similar scenes during my career, but this one is beyond comprehension," he said.

Deputy Police Chief Joseph Heffernan indicated that the investigation remained particularly active. Authorities are currently analyzing evidence collected at the scene, interviewing several witnesses, and reviewing available CCTV footage from the area.

Toledo's Director of Public Safety, George Kral, has appealed to the public to send any videos or photographs taken with a cell phone at the time of the incident to investigators.
