Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said she was more confident about US support after a visit to Washington marked by what she described as constructive talks with senior US officials.
In an interview with Reuters, she referred to "friendly" discussions with the US Treasury Secretary, highlighting a climate of cooperation and a shared desire to continue supporting Ukraine, as the country continues to face the consequences of the war.
The Ukrainian prime minister also stressed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia, which she considers a key lever to weaken Moscow's economic capabilities and support Kyiv's war effort.
On the financial front, Svyrydenko welcomed the flexibility of the International Monetary Fund, which plans to send a mission to Kyiv in May. This move is seen as a positive sign for the country's economic stability and the continuation of reforms.
This visit comes at a time when Ukraine is seeking to consolidate its alliances and secure lasting support from its Western partners, particularly in the face of evolving international geopolitical priorities.
While uncertainties persist, particularly in the long term, the Prime Minister's statements reflect a desire to strengthen cooperation with Washington and ensure the continuity of political, economic and military aid.
