Twelve people died in a plane crash in the state of Missouri, in the United States, according to local authorities.
The accident occurred near Butler Memorial Airport, located about 100 kilometers south of Kansas City. In a statement, the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicated that the aircraft was carrying people participating in a skydiving activity.
According to initial findings, the plane crashed in a field around 11:30 a.m. local time before bursting into flames. Emergency responders dispatched to the scene found the aircraft completely engulfed in flames after the impact.
Authorities have confirmed that all 12 people on board the plane died in the crash. No further information has been released regarding the identities of the victims.
An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy. Federal aviation authorities and specialized investigators are continuing their inquiries at the crash site.
