Good weather returns: a summery Sunday across much of France

After a Saturday marked by wind and showers in several regions, the Azores High is gradually regaining control of the situation this Sunday, June 8th. The weather is improving significantly across the country with more sunshine and a noticeable rise in temperatures.

The weather is improving almost universally, although some clouds may linger over the Channel coast. A few isolated showers may also develop in the mountains, particularly in the Pyrenees and the Alps during the afternoon. Elsewhere, the weather is expected to be calm and pleasant.

This day offers a very classic picture of a French summer, with a contrast between a sometimes cloudier north and a largely sunny south. The Mediterranean regions will enjoy the best conditions with sunshine from morning till night.

Temperatures continue to rise. After a cool morning with lows of 8 to 18°C depending on the region, highs will reach an average of 22°C in the north and 26°C in the south. The highest temperatures are expected between the Toulouse region, southern Rhône-Alpes, and the Mediterranean coast, where the thermometer will climb to between 27 and 30°C. Only the Channel coast will remain relatively cool under the cloud cover, with highs of 16 to 18°C.
