The cold front arriving from the southwest continues its northward movement toward Germany this Friday, bringing more rain and thunderstorms to a large part of eastern France. The most affected regions are Rhône-Alpes, Franche-Comté, and Grand Est, where thunderstorms may develop in heavy, humid conditions. Occasionally heavy rain will also affect areas near the Loire River, extending to the Paris Basin and the Ardennes, with locally significant accumulations expected.
Conversely, an improvement is beginning to take shape from the west. Sunny spells are gradually returning between Brittany, Normandy, and the southwest. The sun is also returning to the Mediterranean regions, accompanied by a moderate mistral and tramontane wind, making it feel more pleasant despite the wind.
Temperatures remain significantly lower across two-thirds of the country. Under the rain, from north of the Loire to Alsace, highs will often not exceed 12 to 15°C, values more typical of early autumn. Only the southwest and the Mediterranean coast will maintain milder conditions with afternoon highs of 20 to 22°C.
