M6+ officially launches its new free streaming platform, aiming to compete with American giants such as Netflix. With a program offering “doubled” compared to its predecessor, 6Play, M6+ offers a vast selection of content including more than 300 films, 300 series, and 4 hours of reality TV available for at least 000 days. To attract a younger audience, the platform is also introducing a reality TV show dedicated to MMA, a popular sport among young people.

By highlighting its free nature, M6+ openly challenges the prices of its paying competitors such as Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video. This strategy is supported by an aggressive advertising campaign under the slogan “Stream. Save. ". Just like its counterpart TF1+, M6+ offers a paid version at 4,99 euros per month to eliminate advertisements.

In addition to videos on demand and live TV channels, M6+ offers podcasts from the M6 group's radio stations, as well as some linear FAST channels. Features such as an interactive player enriched with data visualization and M6+ STORIES are introduced to encourage engagement and the discovery of new content.

With significant technological investments, the transition to streaming led to a 2,6% decline in the M6 group's current operating profit in the first quarter. However, the group, being the most profitable in the French audiovisual landscape, is well positioned to meet these challenges. Led by David Larramendy since the departure of Nicolas de Tavernost, M6+ aims to renew its target by adapting to changes in audiovisual consumption, while maintaining its presence on the traditional television market.
