Radio station RMC announced on Tuesday the arrival of two new voices on its morning show, Apolline Matin : Louis Sarkozy , son of the former president of the Republic, and Cécile Duflot , former Green Party minister and current director general of the NGO Oxfam France. These two figures, with opposing political convictions, will appear as regular commentators starting in the fall of 2025.
Two columnists with opposing profiles
Starting in September, Louis Sarkozy and Cécile Duflot will alternate speaking at 7:50 a.m. on the morning show hosted by Apolline de Malherbe. Louis Sarkozy, 28, will appear on Mondays and Wednesdays, while Cécile Duflot, 50, will take over on Tuesdays and Thursdays. According to RMC, these new additions will bring "a personal and forthright analysis of the major current events, in a spirit of exchanging ideas and democratic debate."
The younger son of Nicolas Sarkozy and a committed right-wing essayist, Louis Sarkozy has spoken out several times in the media about his liberal and conservative convictions. He notably collaborates with LCI, the 24-hour news channel owned by the TF1 group, where he has appeared in recent months to discuss social and political issues. In a statement reported by RMC, he affirms his intention to defend a "deliberately right-wing viewpoint ," arguing that "the left-right divide is not a relic of the past, but a condition for democratic vitality."
For her part, Cécile Duflot , former national secretary of Europe Ecology-The Greens and Minister of Housing under François Hollande , intends to promote a perspective "rooted in solidarity and ecology ." Drawing on her political experience and her role as head of Oxfam France, she hopes to "provide rigorous and alternative insights" on major social, economic, and environmental issues.
A weekly meeting for debate
In addition to her weekday appearances, Cécile Duflot will also debate every Friday at 7:45 a.m. with essayist Charles Consigny, a right-wing media figure and regular columnist on BFMTV.
“These new voices embody our commitment to fostering genuine republican debate on the airwaves ,” declared Karim Nedjari, CEO of RMC. As France prepares for the 2026 municipal elections and the 2027 presidential election, the station affirms its desire to remain a “local media outlet, attentive to the French people and their concerns ,” by emphasizing the diversity of opinions and the voices of its listeners.
