New "cyberattack" for La Poste at the start of this year

The digital platforms of the La Poste group suffered another major outage overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, rendering several services used daily by individuals and businesses unavailable. The incident occurred just days after a first cyberattack that disrupted shipment tracking during the holiday period, although it did not interrupt the physical delivery of mail and parcels.

This new outage, detected around 3:30 a.m., affected the main site as well as some internal information systems. In the initial hours, a message explicitly mentioned a cyberattack, before being subsequently modified. The public group states that it is mobilizing its technical teams to restore access to services, while also apologizing to affected users.

A series of attacks under judicial supervision

According to previously reported information, the December disruption resulted from a deliberate server overload, a method used to block access without penetrating the systems. This attack was claimed by a pro-Russian hacker collective already known for similar actions in Europe. An investigation has been opened in Paris and entrusted to specialized domestic security services to determine responsibility and assess the risks to the group's digital infrastructure.
